Account Information

When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and authentication details via Google OAuth. We do not store your Google password.

Wedding Details

Information you provide during onboarding: couple names, wedding date, city, guest count, budget range, cultural background, and style preferences.

Guest List Data

Names, phone numbers, email addresses, and other details of guests you add to your wedding guest list.

Chat Messages

Messages you send to our AI wedding assistant are stored to maintain conversation context and improve your experience.

Financial Data

Budget estimates and expense records you create within the app. Payment card details are processed securely by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Generate your personalized AI wedding plan based on your preferences and cultural background
  • Power the AI chat assistant with context about your wedding
  • Manage your guest list, events, budget, and expenses
  • Send proactive nudges and reminders about your wedding planning
  • Process payments through Stripe for premium features
  • Improve our AI models and service quality (using anonymized, aggregated data only)

3. AI & Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to power our platform:

Google Gemini AI

Your wedding details and chat messages are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate plans and responses. Google's AI data handling policies apply to this processing.

Supabase

Our database and authentication provider. Your data is stored securely in Supabase's infrastructure with encryption at rest.

Stripe

Handles all payment processing. We never see or store your full card details. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 compliant.

Vercel

Our hosting provider. Serves the application with HTTPS encryption and edge caching.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Specifically:

  • Account and wedding data: retained until you delete your account
  • Chat messages: retained for 12 months, then automatically archived
  • Payment records: retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax law
  • Analytics data: anonymized and aggregated, retained indefinitely

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of all data we hold about you
  • Correction — update or correct inaccurate information
  • Deletion — request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Withdrawal — withdraw consent for data processing at any time

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

  • All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Database encryption at rest
  • Row-Level Security (RLS) policies on all database tables
  • Sensitive fields (phone, email) encrypted with application-level encryption
  • API routes protected with authentication middleware
  • No personally identifiable information (PII) in application logs

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies only for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our analytics solution is privacy-friendly and does not require cookie consent.

8. Children's Privacy

PlanMyShaadi.ai is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we discover that a minor has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notification. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
